About Me
Hello, my name is Cameron!
As a Computer Science undergraduate at CU Boulder, I aim to deepen my expertise and experience in cybersecurity, data science & analysis, software development, and AI.
I entered CU with the initial desire to become a software engineer, as I had a coding hobby with my high school friends and fell in love with parts of the Computer Science realm. Since the beginning of my path in computer science, my passion for solving problems had been fueled by my determination to understand how things work at a deeper level; to widen my world lens and then shrink it down to the minute elements of machine code.
I had already attended a couple hackathons and understood what it meant to communicate and work on a problem from start to finish with a team, usually of complete strangers. From these experiences sprouted my new passion: working and collaborating with others. I found that my biggest accomplishments in computer science, whether it be in a detailed malware analysis report or a completed web app, were strengthened and made enjoyable by communicating with others.
My senior capstone project reflects this passion, as I led a team of five software engineers to develop a production-ready web app for cross-state adobe art exhibition in collaboration with our sponsors at the Harwood Museum of Art and a parallel mobile app team. The website is up currently at unearthingfutures.com, if you want to take a peek.
Now, I seek internships or full-time roles to expand my horizon in cybersecurity, software development, data science, and project management, hoping to bring my experiences at CU and hackathons into further real-world applications.
Hobbies & Interests
When I'm not coding or learning, I enjoy playing video games, especially competitive FPS games like Counter-Strike 2 (Top 5k player on Faceit) and Valorant (Immortal in Preseason, big flex). I also have a passion for music (>120k minutes listened on Spotify last year, beat that!) and play the bass guitar in my free time.
Additionally, I love hiking, bouldering/climbing (only a V4/5 climber right now), and exploring the outdoors, especially in the beautiful landscapes around Boulder and the rest of Colorado.
On top of all of that, I enjoy putting myself into uncomfortable situations to grow and learn new skills. For example, I am the DM/GM for my group of friends in D&D, Call of Cthulhu, and other TTRPGs with an emphasis on improvization.
Feel free to reach out if you want to chat about anything related to cybersecurity, software development, gaming, music, or outdoor adventures! I won't bite.
